We perform research and development, with a strong connection with research centres and universities, in order to promote the diffusion of innovative green technologies. Positioning as a bridge between the current and future industrial needs and the high quality knowledge of academies, we can engineer new green technologies and identify proper sustainable business models.

We actively contribute on diffusing both the green economy and the circular economy concepts through consulting activities and the participation to international conferences, conventions and congresses.

HOW WE CREATE VALUE

THE HBI TECHNOLOGY

The HBI technology synergically combines two innovative processes, through which both clean energy and renewable value added materials can be recovered. The application of this technology allows:

  • up to 90% waste reduction;
  • added value materials recovery (i.e. ammonia and nutrients for agriculture);
  • no odorous or gaseous emissions;
  • near zero electrical energy demand;
  • up to 85% water recovery.

If applied to treat digested sludge, the technology can contribute to increase the biogas production up to +40%.

WHAT WE CAN TRANSFORM INTO VALUE

SEWAGE SLUDGE

The HBI technology allows the sustainable recovery of clean energy and value added materials from sewage sludge, while reducing up to more than 90% the final residue to be disposed off. The technology can directly treat sewage sludge and digestates, as well as other wet biodegradable residues and mixtures of them.

CLEAN AND RENEWABLE ENERGY AND SUSTAINABLE VALUE-ADDED MATERIALS

CLEAN AND RENEWABLE ENERGY

Due to the implementation of a patented innovative process, clean energy can be produced through the production of a mixture of renewable combustible gases (such as, methane, hydrogen and carbon monoxide) and their energy valorization within a cogenerator. In this way, both electrical and thermal energy are produced and directly exploited by the system. In this way, the HBI’s system is almost 100% energetically self sufficient.

SUSTAINABLE VALUE-ADDED MATERIALS

The HBI’s technology is able to separate and extract several interesting molecules from the sludge. In particular, the system separates ammonia, that can be further used for fertilizers production or as an hydrogen carrier, and a mixture of macro and micro nutrients that can be exploited as fertilizing materials, according to the new Reg. (EU) 1009/2019.
